Miu Miu: The Women’s Tales (Part I)

Miu Miu spring/summer 2011: The Powder Room
Directed by Zoe Cassavetes

One day Prada, the next its little sister, Miu Miu. Miuccia Prada has taken the idea of the fashion short and run with it: Miu Miu will roll out during the spring/summer season not one, but a series of fashion shorts by female directors under the banner The Women’s Tales.

The first one, The Powder Room, is directed by Zoe Cassavetes and, as its name would suggest, is set in the powder room of Claridge’s Hotel in London. You can see the video at  miumiu.com, where you’ll also find behind-the-scenes videos, images and interviews with Cassavetes and the models (Audrey Marnay, Caroline de Maigret, Sophie Vlaming and Line Gost).

Cassavetes admits to being “a little bit obsessed with Mrs Prada.” She goes on to say about the video: “The story is about women in their private moments, so it’s allowed to be free and dreamy and the dreamy part was the most fun—and the glamour part was not bad either.”

Miss Prescott can’t wait for the next instalments. Watch this space…
