Off on a Tangent

Tangent Confidential Part 3

Issue seven of Tangent, titled Uncensored Glamour, is online now and giving Paris Vogue a run for its money on the nipple count. Included in this issue (and adding to the tally) comes Part 3 in its Tangent Confidential offering of fashion videos. Think saucy, racy, and very sexy. Something akin to Night Porter meets a Duran Duran video.

The video features two girls, a guy and a boat, and the spectacular Sydney Harbour and its most iconic sights—the Opera House and Harbour Bridge—as a backdrop.

Featured fashion includes pieces from international labels including Giorgio Armani, Gucci and Diane von Furstenberg alongside Australian designers Alex Perry and (two of my favourite rising stars) Michael Lo Sordo and Christopher Dobosz. Shoes came from Mary Kyri, Jimmy Choo and leader of shoe fetishists, Christian Louboutin.

Tangent founder and director/photographer Emmanuel Giraud explains the series: “Tangent Confidential is a series of fashion editorials which explore the dynamic of two girls, one boy playing games in unique locations. I like the idea of creating addictions, by taking the reader on the journey with Tangent Confidential series.”
And for the French expat, who will soon be returning to his homeland after living in Sydney, this particular shoot was something of a personal mission. “Shooting part 3 within Sydney’s Harbour was a long-time obsession. I wanted to juxtapose the characters between the confined space of a small private boat and the vast size of the Harbour,” says Giraud. “This shoot is also symbolic for me. After the years I have spent in Australia, I guess this was my way to take a final and probably glamourous snap of these icons.”
